FAMILY -  what "really" makes me tick. Oh yeah and did I say the love of a good man?

Summer is in full swing - it's topping 100 degrees almost everyday and the grass keeps growing faster than I can cut it!    What's happening in my personal world?   Well, the biggest change since this past May is that my mother was taken ill and was hospitalized with COPD.  She was discharged first week of May and guess where she was released to?  You got it - our house.. Man, what a huge change this has been everyday - -I went from working my usual 12 hr days in the music business to incorporating "care-giver" into the checklist.  Did I say pass the Jack yet?  Nope - it's actually tequilla but that's for the weekends!

So Mom is getting better now and we are about to make another change - she goes to my Dad's house for the next month while I'm on travel for music and taking a MUCH  needed vacation with my hubbie.

I'll try to always keep this BLOG personal and keep the business stuff OUT of it as best I can.  Of course, anyone that knows me, knows that the business is very important to me and landing placements is my JOB!  I am trying like the dickens to stay ahead of the game-- and I think I'm succeeding but my the secretary spread is getting the best of me (if you know what I mean).

I started playing the guitar again - that which I am very excited about because I take guitar lessons EVERY week..  Yeah!!  The wierd thing is that I'm learning my own songs-- you ask why?   Well, my co-writers are proficient players and I use my voice to write melody (not guitar usually).. So my guitar and piano playing kinda went to the way-side while working on my songwriting skills..    Now, I play guitar every single day and the coolest thing is that I'm playing MY OWN SONGS!!       It's really fun - and I love singing every morning in the quiet of the hour - the only competition I have at the early hour is the mockingbird who has roosted on our chimney (and pooping all over Bill's fishing rigs which sit in our driveway)~

I hope that every one is taking care of themselves along their journey through life.    My mother's illness has brought a HUGE awareness to my everyday appreciation for life - without our good health, we really have nothing - no amount of money in the world can bring back your health.

So enjoy your Summer and love the one your with - I sure plan to.
